        求学伊始
        I want to study abroad.
I'll come back as soon as I get my degree.
I want to apply for the MBA in your university.
I'd like to know whether or not I'm qualified for this major.
Could you tell me which majors in your university are available for international students?
What scholarships do you offer to intertional students?
How do I apply for this scholarship?
Have you got the grant to go to a graduate school?
What kind of personal data should I submit?

It's said you'll go abroad to pursue your graduate studies.
Yes. I've been thinking about visting you. I hope to get some advice from you.
Which country do you want to go to?
My field is electronic engineering. Which country do you think I should go?
Were I in you position,I go to America.
Which university should I apply to?
There are many universities for you to choose from. Some famous universities, such as Harvard, Yale, the University of Michigan, and Massachusetts Institute of Technology are really wonderful places to study, but they are very competitive and expensive. Some small universities also are very nice but much cheaper.
Oh,I see. Thank you very much.

        咨询申请手续 Inquire About Applying Procedures
Bob: How do I to an American university?
Ann: You should go to the library to find some information about American universities, and write to the Admission Office,Then the Admission Office will send you Application Forms and other related marerials. From experience, many applicants write to several universities instead of just one.
Bob: I was told that it took a lot of time and effort to apply.
Ann: That is true. I'll list for you the requirements of almost all the universities. First of all, you need official transcripts of your undergraduate work, three letters of recommendation from your professors who know your competence, and the official TOEFL score. Then you need a financial guarantee, and an application fee of $25.
        Bob: What's to come next?
Ann: If they agree to enroll you, they'll send you a TAP-66 Form. With TAP-66, you can apply for a passport from our government and then apply for a visa from the US Embassy in Beijing.
Bob: How long will it take to go over all the procedures?
Ann: From three to six months if everything goes well.
Bob: Thank you. I appreciate all your help.
Ann: You're welcome. Please feel free to ask if you have any more questions.

求助国际中心 Get Help From the International Center
Elizabeth: I'm sorry to trouble you again, Mr.Stone.
Mr.Stone: It's okay. What do you want to ask?
Elizabeth: Where should I go after I arrived at the university?
Mr.Stone: The first place you should go is the international Center.
        Elizabeth: Why?
Mr.Stone: You can get help there in dealing with the United States Immigration and Naturalization Service; you can find Foreign Student Advisers.
Elizabeth: What kind of role do Foreign Student Advisers play?
Mr.Stone: They'll discuss personal concerns, housing, adjustment, finances, and other matters with you.
Elizabeth: Can we get any more help at the International Center?
Mr.Stone: Yes , a lot more. If you go there just before the beginning of fall's semester, you can get your student ID and social security number there. They'll keep your documents up-to-date. They'll offer an orientation program for new comers. They'll also help you contact your department and registration.
Elizabeth: I see. It's must be worth going to.
Mr.Stone: Besides these, the Center staff also works with community organizations which provide tours, home hospitality, speaking engagements, and assistance for wives of foreign students. In cooperation with nationality clubs, student associations and other organizations, the International Center provides a varied program of cultural and social events throughout the year.
Elizabeth: Wonderful! It's a home for foreign students.
Mr.Stone: It sure is. They also serve tea, coffee, and refreshments. The Center staff members are also friendly and helpful. Everyone loves them.
