The first step is the most difficult. 万事开头难。
1.First：首要的；首先
例如：Your first duty is to your family.（你首要的是对家庭尽责。）
【词组】
At first sight 乍一看；初次见到
First things first. 要事先办。
2.Step：步骤，措施
例如：In a way, we had already taken the first step.（在某种意义上说，我们已经走了第一步。）
【词组】
A / One step ahead (of somebody / something) 避开/ 领先（某人或某事物）一步

Don't cry wolf unless you really need help. 除非你真的需要帮助，不然不要发"狼来了"的假警报。
1.Cry wolf：喊狼来了；发假警报；谎报险情
例如：Susan is always crying wolf when the slightest thing goes wrong.（只要出一点差错, 苏珊就会到处求援。）
2.Unless：除非；除非在……情况下
例如：I'll take you to court unless you pay up immediately.（除非马上还清欠款，否则我和你打官司。）
3.Really：实际上，真实地，实在
例如：Don't ask me to explain unless you really don't understand.（不要叫我解释，除非你真的不懂。）

1.No such：没有这样的
例如：No such luck. （所希望的事情没有发生而失望）没那么走运。
2.Publish：出版；发行；公布；发表
例如：When are you going to publish this work of yours?（你什么时候出版你这部作品？）
3.Information：信息；资料；通知；告知
例如：For your information, I don't even have a car.（你要知道，我连汽车都没有。）
注意：Information指一般的“消息，信息”。特务、间谍等搜集的“情报”则用Intelligence：
例如：The spy collected a large amount of intelligence.（这个特务搜集了大量情报。）

I can do nothing except go swimming in the dog days of summer. 在三伏天里，除了游泳，我什么事也做不成。
1.Can do nothing：无能为力；束手无策
例如：You can do very little with faith, but you can do nothing without it.（有信仰也做不了多少事情，但如没有就做不出事情了。）
2.Except：把……除外；免除
例如：They all went to sleep except me.（除我之外， 他们都去睡觉了。）
3.Dog days：三伏天；酷暑期
例如：These are the dog days; watermelons are just in season.（现在是伏天，西瓜正当令。）

1.All that：所有那一切，那么多的；那样
