Nowadays many adults have full-time jobs and the proportion of their lives spent doing such jobs is very high. So feelings about one's job must reflect how an individual feels about his or her life as a whole, and because of this, job satisfaction is indeed very important to the well-being of that person.
Employees get job satisfaction in a number of ways. Firstly, a person needs to feel that they are doing valued and valuable work, so positive feedback from superiors is very important in this respect. A sense of fulfillment is also encouraged if a worker feels the job is worth doing because it contributes to the society or the economy as a whole. Secondly, when some feels they are improving or developing their skills through training opportunities, for example, then there is a sense of progression and purpose that rewards a worker. The sense of belonging to a team or a working community also contributes to job satisfaction because colleagues help each other to enjoy their working lives. Satisfaction is also increased by a sense of responsibility for and loyalty to a team.如今，很多成年人都有一份全职的工作，并且这份工作占据了他们生活空间中非常大的比例。所以一个人对他工作的感觉能反映出他对自己整个生活的感觉，也正因为如此，工作满意度对个人生活质量来说是至关重要的。
员工们可以通过许多方式来获得工作满意度。首先，一个人需要觉得他做的工作是有价值的也是为人所认可的，所以从主管那里得到的积极回馈就是良好工作满意度的一个重要方面。对工作的满足感也同样可以增进员工的工作满意度，例如他们觉得自己的工作可以对社会及整体经济作出贡献。第二，员工满意度还包括让员工觉得他们的技能可以通过例如训练等机会得到发展和提升，这样就会有一种进步感和目的性让员工感到满足。此外对工作团队的归属感同样可以增加员工满意度，因为同事们可以相互享受对方所带来的工作生活。工作满意度还可以通过对一个团队忠心而带来的责任感来提升。
