What sort of food is grown in your country?
In Sri Lanka rice is grown for local consumption. We eat rice because the main diet is rice and fish. But we also have potatoes, vegetables and almost all the items you have here.
What about the animals? Do you have any special animals in Sri Lanka?
Yes. Deep in the forests there are many wild animals, such as elephants, leopards, crocodiles, monkeys, snakes and a strange animal called a giant monitor, a kind of lizard over two metres (six feet) long which has strong claws and can climb trees. There are also many rare birds which are hardly seen anywhere else on earth.
