According to an official from the China-Japan Friendship Association, the ceremony to mark the 40th year of the anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between China and Japan, that was scheduled to take place on Sept. 27, has been postponed.
An exact date hasn’t been announced. The announcement came amid rising tensions over the Diaoyu Islands. The official said Japan has damaged bilateral ties through its purchase of the Diaoyu Islands.
He added that the two countries should develop sound relations on the basis of mutual respect.
