        　　Under the EU plan announced on Friday, 2,250 processed beef samples will be tested across the EU, ranging from 10 to 150 per member state. The samples will come from foods on sale in retail outlets and marketed as containing beef. (Source: BBC)
        　　欧盟本周五发布的计划称，将对整个地区内的2250个加工牛肉样品进行检测，平均每个成员国有10到150个样品。这些样品将从零售店中正在销售、且标签中说明含有牛肉成分的食品中选取。
        　　最近在欧盟各国备受关注的“马肉门”事件(horsemeat scandal)说的是欧洲多个国家超市出售的processed beef foods(加工类牛肉食品)中含有马肉成分，即大家所说的“挂牛头卖马肉”(horsemeat being sold as beef)，涉及的食品多是ready-to-eat frozen meals(冷冻熟食)。
        　　此次检测结果将被录入欧盟的食品安全快速预警系统(alert system for food safety)。法国一家企业因涉嫌故意将马肉当牛肉销售(knowingly selling horsemeat as beef)而被吊销许可证，英国也有三人因涉嫌在肉类销售中有欺诈行为(fraud in meat sales)而被捕。
