In Syria, more than 60 people are reported dead as government forces moving against opponents of President Bashar Assad. Many of those deaths are in the city of Homs, where shells rained down in a rate of ten per minute.
The DOW breaks 13,000 for the first time since the financial crisis of 2008, Wall Street getting a boost from strong corporate earnings and a bailout deal for Greece.
Republican presidential hopeful Rick Santorum says he was an outsider while in Congress, attacking corruption from within, and he is also taking shots at rivals Romney and Gingrich, saying he is not a manager or a visionary.
Mardi Gras revelers filled the streets of New Orleans for Fat Tuesday. There are beads, trinkets, music and elaborate costumes. People started gathering early in the morning.
