Live from Beijing. You are watching a brand-new addition of CCTV News. My name is Zakka Jacob. Top story, the 29 Chinese workers who were abducted in Sudan are now back in Beijing, following their rescue. All of them are said to be in good health.
The workers had been held since the 28th of January. They were part of a group of 47, who were working on a multi-million dollar road project in Sudan's South Kordofan state after a region where clashes between the Sudan People's Liberation Army-North and the Sudanese army have been continuing for months now. The other 17 workers who managed to flee, they also left Sudan on Wednesday.
The workers who were released to the International Committee of the Red Cross, 11 days after they were abducted.
