世博热词：“镇馆之宝”英语怎么说

本次世博会中国馆中展出了许多国家级珍品文物，都是由各地博物馆借出的，有些还是博物馆的镇馆之宝。中国馆副馆长近日透露，即将展出比《清明上河图》级别更高的国宝。
       
        　　“镇馆之宝”这个词我们用英语要怎么说呢？如果意译的话，我们可以说成是the representative piece of the collection，或者是most-treasured piece of the collection。
       
        　　维基百科中在介绍大英博物馆，the British Museum的时候，使用了一个词组，可以用来表述“镇馆之宝”的说法：Key highlights of the collections
       
        　　highlight有 “闪光点、精彩部分、重要的环节”的意思，某个项目中最吸引人的地方都可以说成hightlight，例如：The highlight of the Spring Festival Gala is Faye Wong's performance。用作动词时，highlight表示“强调”，如：highlight the importance of education。大家常用的荧光笔，英语就是highlighter。
       
        　　于是，我们就可以把“镇馆之宝”翻译成Key highlights of the collections，或者Collection Highlights。
       
        　　中国馆承诺，这些从各地博物馆借来的镇馆之宝，一定会遵守诺言，按时归还，做到“有借有还”。英语谚语中也有相应的关于“有借有还”的表达：Pay on the spot and borrow a lot，或者说pay slow and you'll get no dough。
