OK, in cross-strait ties, Taiwan authorities announced today they will open up 21 infrastructure projects to mainland investors. 1/3 of the projects are subject to certain conditions and those involve subways, roads, and stations.
According to Li Hongyuan, head of the project management, mainland funds can only participate in these projects as joint ventures with local firms, rather than underwriting the projects independently.
Mainland funds are urgently needed to sustain Taiwan's infrastructure projects, as the region is lacking 200 billion new Taiwan dollars, or 6.7 billion US dollars, to support on-going construction.
Taiwan authorities will announce the completed list of available projects in March.为促进海峡两岸关系，台湾政府部门今天宣布，将向内地投资者开放21个基础项目。有近三分之一的项目绑定了相关的条件，它们都是与地铁、公路和站点相关的。
本次项目的负责人李鸿源表示，除了要独立承保外，内地投资基金只有与当地企业合资才能参与这些项目。
台湾基础项目继续内地资金支持，因为现在该地区缺少2000亿新台币，即67亿美元来维持建设。
台湾政府部门将在三月公布完整的可投资项目名单。
