　　“活字印刷”是一种用可以移动的文字模块来进行印刷的印刷术。世界上最早的活字印刷是由宋朝时的毕昇发明的。
　　这里的movable type system就是“活字印刷”，为什么用type这个词呢？其实type在印刷术语中是指“铅字、活字”，movable type，可以移动的铅字，自然就是指活字印刷术中的活字啦。type还可以表示硬币上的图案，怎么样，这么一个常见的词，意思还是有很多的哦。
　　所以不难理解，为什么“打字机”叫做typewriter；type也可以作为动词使用，表示“打字”：type a letter
