　　春节是中国最重要的节日。观看春节联欢晚会(the SpringFestival Gala)是中国人庆祝春节的一个重要组成部分。这个一年一度的晚会由中央电视台(CCTV)直播。从除夕之夜晚上8点开始，持续约4个小时。晚会节目丰富多彩，以音乐、舞蹈、喜剧和戏剧表演为主。观众在观看节目的同时还可以通过电话、短信和互联网为 自己喜爱的节目投票。评选结果会在15天之后的元宵节晚会(Lantern Festival Gala)上公布。
　　1.在第2句中，主语“观看春节联欢晚会”可用动名词短语来表达，译作Watching the spring Festival Gala. 定语“中国人庆祝春节的”较长，可将其处理成后置定语，用for sb. to do sth的形式(即for Chinese people to celebrate the festival)来表达。
　　2.在第3句中，“由......直播”表示主语“晚会”是受动者，故用被动语态，表达为is broadcast live by...，live在此处是副词，“从除夕之夜晚上8点开始，持续约4个小时”修饰的是“晚会”，因其较长，可处理为非限制性定语从句，译作 which begins at 8:00... and lasts for...。
　　3.第4句“晚会节目……，以……为主”由两个分句构成，翻译时可把第1个分句处理成主干，第2个分句处理成状语，用分词短语来表达;“以……为主”可用动词feature来表达。故整句译为It produces...，featuring songs...。
　　4.在翻译倒数第2句时,要先译出其主要结构(The audience can vote on their favorite programs of the Gala)。方式状语“通过电话、短信和网络”可译作by phone, by text message or through the Internet。 而时间状语“在观看节目的同时”则可表达为while enjoying the Gala，置于句末。

This annual Gala is broadcast live on CCTV,which begins at 8:00 p.m. on the Chinese New Year'sEve and lasts for about 4 hours.
