        　　When evolution selects
        　　its agents,
        　　与众不同的获得
        　　it does so at a cost.
        　　总是需要付出代价的
        　　It makes demands
        　　in exchange for singularity.
        　　也许你会因此而被要求做些
        　　And you may be asked
        　　to do something
        　　有违于自己本意的事情
        　　against your very nature.
        　　突然间，那些你生活中
        　　Suddenly, the change
        　　in your life
        　　原本美好的变化
        　　that should have been
        　　wonderful,
        　　却成为了可耻的背叛
        　　comes as a betrayal.
        　　这可能听起来有些残酷
        　　It may seem cruel,
        　　但这些只不过是为了自卫
        　　but the goal is nothing short
        　　of self-preservation.
        　　为了生存
        　　Survival.
        　　进化并不是多愁善感的
        　　This force, evolution,
        　　is not sentimental.

        　　Like the earth itself,
        　　进化深知只有生命中最顽强的部分
        　　it knows only
        　　the hard facts
        　　才会为生存而和死神殊死相拼
        　　of life's struggle
        　　with death.

        　　and trust

        　　that when you've served
        　　its needs faithfully,

        　　there may still remain
        　　some glimmer of the life you once knew.
