China raises pension for corporate retireesagainChinese authorities have decided to raise the pension forcorporate retirees by 10 percent to cope with the rising cost ofliving, according to a cabinet meeting on Wednesday.
The new rules took effect on Jan. 1, 2013, according to anexecutive meeting of the State Council, chaired by Premier WenJiabao. The government has increased the corporate pension for nine consecutive years.
According to a press release issued after the meeting, the pension for corporate retirees in 2013 will be raised based on the basic level of their monthly pension per capita in 2012.
In addition, it said pensions for corporate retirees with the professional qualification of seniorengineer and those who were demobilized veterans will be further increased, without offeringspecific details.
The central government agreed to establish a pension-adjusting mechanism to ensure thatpensions for corporate retirees could be raised gradually.
China's central government has raised pensions for corporate retirees since 2005. Their monthlypension per capita has been lifted from 700 yuan (111 U.S. dollars) in 2004 to 1,721 yuan in 2012.
The State Council also approved a list of 4,824 professionals and technical staff who will be givenspecial government allowances. To date, more than 166,000 people in China have been givensuch allowances.
国务院总理温家宝9日主持召开国务院常务会议,决定继续提高企业退休人员基本养老金水平。
会议决定,自2013年1月1日起,继续提高企业退休人员基本养老金水平,提高幅度按2012年企业退休人员月人均基本养老金的10%确定。在普遍调整的基础上,对企业退休高工、高龄人员等群体适当再提高调整水平,对基本养老金偏低的企业退休军转干部按有关规定予以倾斜。
为保障企业退休人员生活,2005年至2012年,国家已连续8年较大幅度调整企业退休人员基本养老金水平。2012年调整后企业退休人员月人均养老金达到1721元,与2005年调整前月人均700元的水平相比,8年累计月人均增加1021元。会议要求研究建立企业退休人员基本养老金正常调整机制,确保企业退休人员生活水平保持稳定并逐步提高。
会议批准了2012年享受政府特殊津贴人员名单。这次共有4824人享受政府特殊津贴。至此,从1990年政府特殊津贴制度建立以来,共有16.6万多做出突出贡献的专业技术人员和高技能人员享受政府特殊津贴。
会议还研究了其他事项。
