'Our vision is to be a friend to international students who are essentially treated as cash cows, andto provide a fair, simple and secure payment service which will eventually expand into helping withpayments for rent, home or car loans,' Mr. Stesel said.

The Group of Eightincludes the University of Sydney, University of Melbourne and University of Queensland, andNexPay already has student ambassadors in place to spread the word at those schools andothers including the University of Technology Sydney.

'Our first goals are to secure partnerships with universities and process 1,000 students in 2013,' Mr. Stesel said, adding that NexPay had begun discussions with both offshore and onshore studentagents, and would use search-engine optimization and Google ads to increase awareness about itsproduct, which prevents money laundering since students cannot withdraw funds.
