China, India and Russia less business friendlyExecutives around the world say governments in China, Indiaand Russia have become less friendly towards business over thepast three months, reversing gains seen earlier in the year, according to the FT/Economist Global Business Barometersurvey.

The survey comes amid concerns that growth in Brazil, Russia, India and China – together knownas the Brics – is slowing.

Asked how they rated certain governments, 33 per cent of executives viewed China as eitherunfriendly or very unfriendly. This is higher than the 31 per cent in the July poll, which itself was stillbetter than at the start of the year, when more than 40 per cent surveyed judged the world’ssecond-largest economy as unfriendly to business.

Governments in advanced economies such as the UK, US and Canada were judged by participantspolled in October and early November to have become more friendly. More than 75 per cent sawCanada as business friendly.
