2、中国和美国，在事关人类生存生存和发展的许多重大问题上，例如维护世界和平与安全，防止大规模杀伤性武器扩散，保护人类生存环境，打击国际犯罪等，有着广泛的共同利益，肩负着共同责任。
参考译文：
1. China is a country with 1.3 million people. Its stablity and rapid
development is of vital significance/condequence to the stability and
development in the Asia-Pacific region and the world at large.
这里同时用到了分译和合译。13亿的中国译为一个句子，由于稳定和快速发展与后面的“对促进···有重要意义”有动宾关系，所以可以合译为一句。这里关键是找出断句间的内在关系重新组合。
China has/holds/boasts a huge market and great demand for development while
the United States holds advanced science and technology as well as enormous
material force. Therefore the economied of the two countries are highly
complementary with each other.
while和therefore起到了连接作用，使得译文流畅通顺。
2. China and the United States share broad common interests and shoulder
common responsibility on many important issues which are crucial to human
survival and development such as maintaining world peace and security,
preventing the spread of weapons of mass destruction, protecting envioronment
for human survival and combating international crimes.
这里用到了短句合并法。由于汉语向来有精简概要的传统，翻译时，根据短句点内在关系，重新组合，成为英语中典型的长句，可以是并列句，复合句，甚至成分复杂的简单句，如这句，通过一些介词、连词的使用如on,
such as, for等的使用使得句子紧凑的连接起来，符合英语的行文方式。
