The trend from the previous years suggests that the player who wins theBallon d'Or in the year before the World Cup will fail at the tournament, which
is widely known as the curse of the Ballon d'Or or Ballon d'Or curse.

In the past years, players like Johan Cruyff, Roberto Baggio, the original
