表示两者之间选择其一，常用的有：or(或者，否则),otherwise(否则),or else(否),either…or(不是……就是)。如：(34)Either he is to blame or I am.不是他该受责，就是我该受责。
(35)You must go to work or/or else/otherwise you'll lose your job.你得去上班，要不然就要失去这份工作了。
表示两个概念有矛盾或对照，常用的有but(但是),yet(然而),still(仍然),however(然而),while(而，可是另一方面),whereas(而，反过来)等。
(36)He is well over severty,but he doesn't look at all old.他七十多岁，但看上去一点儿也不老。
(37)She trained hard all year yet still failed to reach her best form.她全年艰苦训练，然而仍未达到自己的最佳状态。
(38)Although she felt ill,she still went to work.她虽然觉得身体不舒服，但仍然去上班了。
