China and Kazakhstan should align the Silk Road Economic Belt with Kazakhstan’s Nurly Zhol (Bright Path) economic program, making better plans for cooperation in all areas, Chinese President Xi Jinping said when meeting with Kazakh Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev on Thursday in Beijing.中国国家主席习近平周四在北京会见哈萨克斯坦总理巴基赞·萨金塔耶夫时表示，中哈两国应将丝绸之路经济带与哈萨克斯坦的“光明道路”经济规划相结合，更好地规划在各个领域的合作。
The Silk Road Economic Belt is part of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) proposed by Xi in 2013, along with the 21st-century Maritime Silk Road. The initiative aims to build trade and infrastructure networks connecting Asia with Europe and Africa along and beyond the ancient Silk Road routes.
“丝绸之路经济带”是习近平2013年提出的“一带一路”倡议和21世纪海上丝绸之路的一部分。该倡议旨在建立连接亚洲与欧洲和非洲的贸易和基础设施网络，连接古代丝绸之路沿线和以外的地区。
The Nurly Zhol (Bright Path) economic program was proposed by Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev, which lays great emphasis on infrastructure construction.
光明道路经济计划是由哈萨克斯坦总统努尔苏丹·纳扎尔巴耶夫提出的，其重点是基础设施建设。
China appreciates Kazakhstan’s firm support for and active participation in the Belt and Road cooperation, Xi told Sagintayev, noting that there is great potential for the two countries to expand cooperation under the initiative.
习近平对哈方坚定支持和积极参与“一带一路”合作表示赞赏，并指出两国在“一带一路”倡议下扩大合作的潜力巨大。
"This year marks the fifth anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative which I proposed. The initiative has brought prosperity to countries along the routes, while injecting new impetus into world economic development," Xi added.
今年是我提出的“一带一路”倡议五周年。这一倡议在给沿线国家带来繁荣的同时，也为世界经济发展注入了新的动力。
The Chinese president said he has maintained close interactions with his Kazakh counterpart Nazarbayev, and has reached lots of consensuses with the Kazakh president. "These consensuses have been well implemented," Xi noted.
中国国家主席表示，他与哈萨克斯坦总统纳扎尔巴耶夫保持着密切互动，并与哈萨克总统达成了许多共识。习近平指出:“这些共识得到了很好的落实。”
He said that as a friendly neighbor and comprehensive strategic partner, China attaches great importance to its relations with Kazakhstan and supports the country in choosing a development path suitable to its national conditions.
他说，作为一个友好邻邦和全面战略伙伴，中国高度重视同哈萨克斯坦的关系，支持哈萨克斯坦选择适合本国国情的发展道路。
Sagintayev conveyed sincere greetings of Nazarbayev to President Xi and said that Kazakhstan thinks highly of the initiative of the Silk Road Economic Belt proposed by Xi five years ago.
萨金塔耶夫转达了纳扎尔巴耶夫对习近平主席的诚挚问候，并表示哈高度评价习近平五年前提出的丝绸之路经济带倡议。
"President Xi compared China’s economy to the sea and the ship of cooperation between the two countries will sail further in the sea," he said.
“习主席将中国经济比作大海，两国合作之舟将在海上航行得更远，”他说。
