The Chinese people call the transportation during the Spring Festival holiday chunyun for short. Chunyun, which made its premier appearance in People’s Daily in 1980, is the annual test of Chinese transportation system. Since the reform and opening up policy was carried out, the restrictions on human resource flow have been becoming more and more relax and an increasing number of people choose to go out for work and study. Large crowds of people return home during the Spring Festival holiday, thus chunyun which can be called rare population movements around the world came into being. The chunyun force has increased from 100 million to 370 million for nearly 30 years, which equals move of the total population of Africa, Europe, America and Oceania.
