Protesters in Turkey blaming the government for deadly explosions in the capital earlier this month. As people prepare to head to the polls on Sunday security is taking centre stage in this election. It's the second time in five months that a vote has been held to decide who will rule the country. The governing AK Party is hoping to win back its majority and win back stability. The economy has faltered in recent years as the country has grappled with civil unrest and violence and tried to cope with a huge influx of refugees from neighbouring Syria. Selin Girit is the BBC's reporter in Turkey. I asked her how much the recent instability there had affected the financial markets.
Turkey was already treading on thin ice economically. Sentiment towards emerging markets and Turkey in particular recently deteriorated. Turkey has held elections in June and since then there have been coalition talks but no coalition government was formed and the country has been led by an acting government for the last five months. That particularly caused concerns among markets, amongst markets and investors as well. And now on Sunday there will be another round of elections, a re-round of parliamentary elections. And it seems like the outcome of these elections will be pretty much the same as the last one and a hung parliament is highly likely.
