The Chelsea doctor Eva Carneiro has decided to leave the club just six weeks after being called naive and having her role downgraded by the manager Jose Mourinho. Carneiro and the club's physio were criticised for treating an injured player during their match against Swansea City in August. With more here's the BBC sports news correspondent Katie Gorner.
Eva Carneiro hasn't been seen at Chelsea's Cobham training ground since that very public falling-out that she had with Jose Mourinho that took place during Chelsea's 2-2 draw with Swansea way back on the 8th of August. Now, it all stemmed from an incident that took place very late on in that match, when Carneiro and the club physio Jon Fearn rushed on to treat Eden Hazard. Now because Chelsea'd already had a player sent off, they were temporarily reduced to nine men, and that was something that really angered Jose Mourinho. He was seen shouting at Carneiro and the physio Fearn. He also very publicly criticised them after the match as well, saying that they were impulsive and didn't understand football. Now it was a reaction that drew widespread criticism particularly in medical circles, and the club itself haven't confirmed the news tonight, they've just said they don't comment on internal staffing matters. But we understand that Chelsea did want Carneiro to return. That hasn't happened, she's left the club and she is now seeking legal advice.
