But first as we record this podcast, it's just over 24 hours since Hungary closed its border with Serbia, stopping migrants heading through on their way to countries like Germany and Austria. But that closure means growing crowds of frustrated people on the Serbian side of the frontier, protesting in the hope of getting the crossing re-opened or working out alternative routes. Our chief international correspondent Lyse Doucet is inside Serbia next to the border fence.
"So the Hungarian-Serbian border is shut. People are continuing to arrive here exhausted and make it clear they are not going away. So what is the Serbian government going to do about this? We are joined here by Aleksandar Vulin, a government minister who's in charge of the government's working committee on migrants. "First of all, what's your reaction to this?"
"It's Europe, should be a Europe, European community and you can see we have border fence and desperate, desperate people who just tried to pass in Hungary. Unfortunately, they are not allowed. All day I received only some strange excuses of Hungarian government: why they cannot pass, why they are not allowed?"
