People barely know that 23rd of April is the World Book Day. But countless people immerse themselves in the sea of books. However, the way of reading has changed recently. A growing number of people choose E-readers to read instead of physical paper books. E-readers are popular these days.

Reading is widely considered to be an invaluable habit, as Francis Bacon, a distinguished celebrity, put it in his masterpiece Of Study, “Histories make men wise; poets witty; the mathematics subtile; natural philosophy deep; moral grave; logic and rhetoric able to contend”.
However, how people read has greatly changed with the acceleration of technology. It is not difficult to find out that E-readers prevail these days due to their evident advantages. Apart from their lightweight, E-readers occupy little space compared with physical paper books while we can read as many as hundred of books in them. Moreover, they enable individuals to read wherever and whenever they would like owing to their advantages of being portable. All these features mentioned above give rise to E-readers` popularity nowadays.

With the development of technology, the publish industry witnessed a staggering and radical change. E-publishing has become a sweeping trend worldwide whereas the traditional way is facing a thorny challenge. Mostly, I would rather choose E-books as my priority, while the traditional ones are more suitable under certain circumstances.
For the recreational reading, like newspapers, magazines and fictions, E-reading is perfect for it is extremely convenient for us to fetch those materials from Internet, although there might be some potential copyright infringement issues. Nobody could neglect the obvious benefit (extremely low cost) of E-reading. When it comes to the serious reading, I personally would rather choose physical paper books than E-books. Because, the tangible papers with fragrant inks give me a strong sense of learning. And the physical paper books, apparently, are easier to take notes on, which is crucial to the learning.
