Shakira - Whenever Wherever
Colombian singer Shakira‘s first English single, "Whenever, Wherever," became an instant hit in the States . In fact, the song had such an infectious beat it seemed to make listeners ignore such nonsensical lyrics as these: "Lucky that my lips not only mumble/ They spill kisses like a fountain/ Lucky that my breasts are small and humble/ So you don't confuse them with mountains." To be fair, "Whenever, Wherever" was translated from Shakira's Spanish version of the same tune, called "Suerte," which made a lot more sense. Creativity often gets lost in translation.
