Jeremy Messersmith的首张专辑《The Alcatraz Kid》发行于2006年，清澈甜蜜。其中的歌曲《Novocain》和《Beautiful Children》被收录进当地的音乐之声，同时也受到格莱美获奖者Dan Wilson赏识，准备帮助JM制作第二张专辑。
于是《The Silver City》能够在2008年发行。这张专辑是一张向twinkling POP大师The Beach Boys和The Sixties的致敬之作。The Silver City中JM的歌词更加概念化，音域也更加宽广。
