Lea Michele8岁时在百老汇初次亮相，当时她在音乐剧Les Miserables（悲惨世界）中扮演Young Cosette。从那时起，Michele不但与百老汇著名演员Audra和Brian一道出演了Ragtime（爵士年华）还和Alfred Molina在百老汇经典音乐剧Fiddler on the Roof（屋顶上的提琴手）合作。
Michele最为让人熟知的角色就是百老汇作品Spring Awakening（春之觉醒）中的Wendla，这部作品也获得过托尼奖。她在音乐剧中的表现也曾让她获得过Drama Desk Award（戏剧编辑人奖）的最佳女演员提名。
在她出演的作品《春之觉醒》，《爵士年华》和《屋顶上的提琴手》获托尼奖后，她也仍然在纽约的无线电城音乐厅中登台演出,在这些获奖作品中她的表演起了重要作用。最后一次看到她的表演是在好莱坞露天剧场里上演的《悲惨世界》，她在里面扮演Eponine，那是个有众多明星出演的一次剧作。她也在纽约的 Feinstein's at Loews Regency和洛杉矶的Upright Cabaret举办过个人的演唱会，当时票都已售罄，现场人山人海。
Michele也出演过电视剧Third Watch（危急最前线）和Guiding Light。
Michele现在22岁了，最近她在纽约和洛杉矶两地来回奔波。
