No.1 it’s no good to do / it’s no good doing

整天抱怨生活，却又不采取什么行动，可没什么好处！

1. it’s no good + doing，意为“做某事没什么好处”。
2. 谈到complain，还有两个表示“抱怨”的词在口语中也相当常用：bitching和nagging。它们均表示“抱怨”和“数落”。
例：William’s wife kept nagging at him.
William的太太整天在他耳边唠叨。
No.2 be open to / be open with / be frank with

1. be open to 向……开放
例：The library is open to the public.
图书馆向公众开放。
2. be open with 以诚相待
例：As good friends, we must be open with each other.
作为好朋友，我们应该彼此坦诚相待。
3. be frank with与be honest with相近，指“坦率的，不委婉的”。
例：To be frank with you, you suck!
跟你说实话吧，你真恶心！
No.3 cheat / cheat on

因为女朋友不忠，Jack很伤心。

1. cheat someone (out of something) 意思是“骗取某人财物”，cheat在这里是及物动词。
例：She cheated her customers by overcharging them.
她通过多收费来欺骗顾客。
2. 表示“对配偶不忠”应该用cheat on a spouse，这里的cheat是不及物动词。
3. cheat in an exam意为“考试作弊”。
4. 在美国口语中，cheat还有一种调皮的用法： cheat on death，意为“捡回一条命
No.4 healthy / well / better

1. healthy作表语时，常表示“有益于健康的”。
例：Eating breakfast is healthy.
吃早饭有益健康。
2. 而形容人身体状况，一般用短语 in good/poor health，这里的health是不可数名词。
例：Health, wealth and happiness.
健康，财富和幸福。
3. “You’ll be healthy soon.”比较拗口，不符合英美人的说话习惯。well作表语意为“健康的，精神很好的”。
例：You look so well.
你看上去气色不错。
No.5 rubbish mail / junk mail

1. rubbish虽然也是“垃圾”的意思，但“垃圾邮件”一般用固定短语junk mail，包括flyers（传单）、ads（各类促销广告）、store catalogues（商品目录杂志）等。
2. 如果你不喜欢收到垃圾邮件, 可以在信箱上贴“no junk mails please”，还是挺管用的。此外，垃圾食品是junk food，现在很多女生都力主减肥，拒绝junk food。在这里给广大女性同胞提供一个减肥妙方：The only thing you gotta do is drinking much tomato juice before each meal.
