What is the first thing most people want as they get richer? The first thing they buy isn't a television or a mobile phone; it is a chicken. The first thing people spend their money on is getting some meat into their diet. And that presents huge challenges for agriculture. Raising animals requires much more effort than growing crops. For a start, you've got to find the food to feed them.大多数人富有后首先想得到的是什么东西？他们最先买的并不是电视或手机，而恰恰是一只鸡。人们首先想到的是买点肉改善一下伙食。这给农业带来了很大挑战。饲养动物所花费的精力比种植作物要多得多。最起码得先找东西喂饱了它们。
