Well, The EU's Home Affairs commissioner has warned of staggering levels of corruption in member countries. Presenting the first EU-wide anti-corruption reports, Cecilia Malmstrom said the problem eroded trust in democratic institutions and it provided the breeding ground for organised crime. She said corruption was costing more than $160 billion every year,that's roughly equivalent to the EU's entire annual budget.
欧盟内政事务专员Cecilia Malmström警告称，欧盟成员国的腐败程度已经岌岌可危。她在首份全欧盟范围的反腐报告中指出，腐败问题破坏了人们对民主制度的信任，还为有组织犯罪提供了温床。她还指出，每年因腐败而消耗掉的资金高达1600亿美元以上，这基本上跟欧盟整年的预算持平了。
