一、课文阅读练习
Last week at a dinner party, the hostess asked me to sit next to Mrs. Lee. Mrs. Lee was a large, unsmiling lady in a tight black dress. She did not even look up when I took my seat beside her. Her eyes were fixed on her plate and in a short time, she was busy eating. I tried to make conversation.
'A new play is coming to "The Globe" soon,' I said. 'Will you be seeing it?'
'No,' she answered.
'Will you be spending your holidays abroad this year?' I asked.
'No,' she answered.
'Will you be staying in England?' I asked.
'No,' she answered.
In despair, I asked her whether she was enjoying her dinner.
'Young man,' she answered, 'if you ate more and talked less, we would both enjoy our dinner!"
二、文中口语常用词汇的解析应用&经典句型结构的万能应用
1.fix (目光)专注于，凝视;目不转睛地看
用法：
Sb fix sb’s eyes on …
sb’s eyes be fixed on …
2.be busy doing忙于做某事
3.虚拟语气
If you ate more and talked less, we would both enjoy our dinner!
如果你多吃少说就好了——但是事实是 你一直罗里吧嗦的 所以 这句话描述的情景和事实相反
在这里讲两种基本的虚拟语气模式
（1）虚拟语气表示与现在事实相反的情况：
If sb did sth, sb should/would/could/might do sth
或if sb were…, sb should/would/could/might do sth
注意：如果动词是BE动词 对现在进行的虚拟 动词只能用were！
（2）表示与过去事实相反的情况
if sb had done sth, sb should/would/could/might+have done
