faint
faint的意思是模糊的、微弱的，例如：
Despite of so many difficulties she had gone through, a faint hope still flickered in her breast.尽管历尽艰辛，她的心中还是闪烁着希望的微光。
She threw me a faint smile.她对我微微一笑。（faint在形容微笑时，常含有“勉强”的意思）
They said the painting was too faint to reproduce well.他们说绘画颜色太浅了，复制不清楚。
faint还有“晕眩”的意思：
She suddenly fell forward on to the table and fainted.她突然向前栽倒在桌上，晕了过去。
glow
glow的意思是“发光”，通常指比较微弱稳定的：
The cigarette's red glow danced about in the darkness.香烟的红色暗光在黑暗中闪烁。
Her hair floats like a banner in the breeze and in the earlymorning light she seems to glow against a background of dark trees.她的头发在微风的吹拂下像旗帜一样飘扬，晨光中她在一片黑暗树木的映衬下仿佛泛出光晕。
也可以指皮肤的光彩：
Her freckled skin glowed with health again.她那有雀斑的皮肤又泛起健康的光彩。
glow还可以引申为较抽象的含义：
Exercise will give you a glow of satisfaction at having achieved something.体育锻炼会带给你一种有所成就的喜悦。（a glow of..., 表示某种积极、愉快的感情）
The expectant mothers that Amy had encountered positively glowed with pride.埃米遇见的孕妇们个个脸上都洋溢着幸福和自豪的光彩。
