http://t1.g.hjfile.cn/listen/201311/20131116061841112585.mp3Now there's one corner of the Cuban capital Havana where you'd be forgiven for thinking that you're seeing double. Calle 68-A is home to a remarkably high number of twins, and most of them are identical. There are many wild and wonderful theories about why this has happened, and Sarah Rainsford has been investigating.
So this is Calle 68-A, just a few streets away from my own house here in Havana. In fact, it's a narrow street with lots of potholes in the road and one and two-storey houses on either side, painted turquoise, blue, red and pink. It's just two short blocks to this street. But I've come here because it's home to 12 sets of twins.
There's no sign of anyone at first, just a radio pumping retro music from behind a shutter. But I soon find an elderly man, rocking in a chair on his porch and chatting to a friend. And it turns out they are both grandparents to twins.
"Mine were born here," one of the men tells me. "And his, and the ones who live opposite."
