Robert Shiller who earlier this month won a Nobel Prize in Economics warned global house prices looked bubbly and it's not hard to see why. I asked Liam Bailey, global head of residential research at the Estate agents Knight Frank, where the international hotspots are today.
The interests in markets at the moment are generally city-led. So it's places like London, New York, Miami, and over in Asia you'd be thinking about, say, Singapore and Hong Kong in particular, but also Sydney. And also to an extent, you might think about, say, Paris, and also some of the German cities at the moment.
Are there common factors which are driving these property markets?
The markets which are hotspots to a global buyer at the moment are those big cities. And what they are looking for at the moment is they want an investment return. As importantly, buyers are looking for somewhere where they think is a safe location to invest their equities.
