Sir Paul McCartney this week released his 24th studio album, not counting the classical and electronic ones. The title, simply New, reflects both the happiness he's found in a new marriage and the sense of musical adventure on a record made with four young producers, including Paul Epworth and Mark Ronson. Although for most of his, most of his life, going to work has meant strapping on the bass or sitting at the piano, I suggest it to Paul McCartney that one song is a reminder that he was the only member of the Beatles who had a so-called proper job before joining the band.
Those like coil winders, there were a couple of jobs I had before going to work on a bus like loads of people. It was quite an interesting period for me. I think probably interested me because I stopped doing it.
