Officials are blaming Sandy for more than one hundred deaths and more than fifty billion dollars in property damage. The storm left about eight million people without power for days. This included nearly five million people in New York State and New Jersey. Sandy flooded parts of New York City's subway system and affected other transportation.官员表示，飓风桑迪已经导致100多人丧生，并且造成超过500亿美元的财产损失。还使大约800万人好几天内没有得到电力供应，其中包括纽约和新泽西的将近500万居民。飓风桑迪已经淹没了部分纽约市的地铁系统，还影响了其他的交通系统。
