A Texas woman has been arrested for allegedly sending ricin-laced letters to President Obama and New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg. Authorities say the suspect Shannon Richardson originally claimed that her husband was behind the crime.
Tropical storm Andréa has been bringing wind and rain to the Carolinas, causing thousands of residents to lose power. Forecasters issued flood watches across much of the Carolinas as well as some tornado watches.
The U.S. economy added 175,000 jobs in May, a pace that shows steady progress with the economic recovery. But the unemployment rate ticked up to 7.6% because more people were trying to find work.
