President Barack Obama traveled to Moore, Oklahoma Sunday for a firsthand look at the damage caused by a massive tornado that devastated the town. Obama told residents they are not alone as they recover from the storm that left 24 people dead.
San Antonio is bracing for the possibility of more flooding. The national weather service has issued a flash flood watch for seven Texas counties saying thunderstorms could produce rainfall at a rate of two to four inches per hour. Torrential rain and floods are blamed for two deaths on Saturday.
The national transportation safety board is investigating the cause of Saturday’s train collision in Missouri. Two cargo trains slammed together at a rail intersection southwest of Cape Girardeau, derailing cars that then struck the support columns of a highway overpass.
Quarterback Everett Golson is no longer enrolled at Notre Dame. A university spokesman says Golson, who had three years of eligibility left after not playing as a freshman, was no longer enrolled at Notre Dame as of Friday. The spokesman says he couldn't comment on why because of federal privacy laws.
