Larry跟李华在星巴克咖啡馆见面。今天我们要学两个常用语：for the birds（毫无价值的，没人喜欢的）和way out in left field（离谱的，不着边际的。）.

Well, it comes from the fact that birds usually eat seeds, and seeds are considered worthless and undesirable.
Exactly, but you could also say it for things other than the weather. For example, say I don't like the chicken sandwich I made for lunch. I could say that the chicken sandwich is for the birds.
