There's been many, many changes over the course of time, and l'm going to reconstruct all these back as it would have been. I'm transferring an image of the original painting onto the panel using the same technique that Uccello would have used. He would have had a master drawing and squared it up. With an image like this, you have to be very, very careful, you can't sort of fudge things, Uccello would have to have a massive amount of planning to make sure everything's in the right place especially with a rather slow, laborious technique like egg tempera painting, which was what most of kind of painting was done in because you can't easily correct mistakes. This whole picture would have taken a very, very long time. I reckon probably 700 to 1,000 hours spread over several months.这件作品多年来经历不少苦难，它做了很多更动，我决定一点一滴地 重建它的原貌。我用乌切罗当年的技巧把这幅画转印至画板上，他会先绘制一幅主图，然后以方格区分，在处理这样的图像时，必须格外谨慎，不能胡乱捏造。乌切罗一定做了详尽的计划确保一切细节的位置正确无误，特别是在使用当时颇为盛行，但极为非礼的蛋彩技巧。因为一旦画错就很难修正，这件作品的创作旷日费时。他应该在好几个月间花了七百到一千个小时作画。
