The thing is Gigi is gay, and has been in a relationship for eight years with a woman called Sean Eav. Her story is being turned into a film, and Gigi has been telling Outlook how she feels about it all, starting with her relationship with her father growing up.
"I saw him a lot and I have a lot of fond memories of waiting for him in the Rolls-Royce while, you know, picking him up from work, and sort of just jumping onto his lap and kissing his face. And then he'd go on his social appointments, and then I'd find, you know, some pennies that he left behind on the seat. And I thought, wow, he left behind a coin! And I would hide it and then next time I see him, I'd give it to him and say, 'Hey daddy, look what you've left behind.' And just found it really fun to do sort of silly things with him. And we went out on boat trips quite a lot. And daddy is a very strong swimmer. So I would just sort of sit on his back and he would swim all over the place and I would call him my water taxi. And he'd just swim for laps and laps on end with me on his back. But as I grew older and especially when my mum moved me to America, US, I sort of lost that link with him. “我总是见到他，记忆中有许多温暖的片段，在劳斯莱斯里等着接他下班，你知道，几乎就是跳到他的膝盖上，亲他的脸。然后他再继续去赴他的社交约会，而我嘛，会在车座上找到他无意丢下的硬币，我就想，哇，他忘了一个硬币！然后我会把它藏起来，下次见到他的时候我就把它给他看，说：‘爹地，你看你忘记什么了。’和他一起做这些傻事我都觉得特别好玩。我们还经常一起驾船出海。爹地是个健壮的泳者，所以我就坐在他背上，他到处游来游去，我就管他叫我的水上出租车。他就那么背着我一圈一圈不停地游着。但随着我慢慢长大，尤其是当妈妈把我送到美国去以后，我仿佛就失去了和他的这种亲密联系，而且整个少年时期，我都没能重建这条纽带。”
