I'm not gonna be talking about how beautiful it is and how wonderful it is and how mysterious it is. Rather, I'm gonna be trying to explain it. I'm gonna be trying to explain fundamental aspects of ourselves including questions like how do we make decisions, why do we love our children, what happens when we fall in love, and so on.
Now, you might find this sort of project in the end to be repellant. You might worry about how this, well, this meshes with humanist values. For instance, when we deal with one another in a legal and a moral setting, we think in terms of free will and responsibility. If we're driving and you cut me off, you chose to do that.
