Hollywood has struggled to make inroads in China. But as a huge untapped market, it's where the big moviemakers want to be. For Dreamworks, it seems an animated panda has opened doors. The movie "Kung Fu Panda II" was a huge hit across China where the release of foreign films is limited. Dreamworks has managed to do a deal with some of the country's biggest media companies to build a studio in Shanghai. But it's not just pandas or animation. The Dreamworks's chief executive says he has big plans for live action movies, theme parks, online gaming and consumer products. A pretty significant opportunity for us, he said, perhaps underplaying how profitable getting a foothold in China might be. Oriental Dreamworks, as it will be called, is planning its first animated feature film by 2016. The deal was signed on the sidelines of Xi Jinping's last day in the US.
