Ryan feels a very strong connection to their supporters for one simple reason. "Our fans are the most important thing because we didn't have any for so long. And once you have them, you don't ever wanna let them go."
Hot Chelle Rae is an interesting name for a band. Ryan explains where they found the inspiration. "We named our band after a fan that was pretending to be this entirely different person on MySpace and her handle was Chelle Rae and she was very attractive in her photos. And I know that we are not the only guys in the world who ever click on an attractive photo and mean like 'Oh, this is definitely her.' She pretended that she was working at this record label and she was gonna help us an dblah blah and it went on for a long time. And the story's much more in depth but, long story short, we found out that she wasn't real."
Hot Chelle Rae released their sophomore CD "Whatever" in November and Ryan explains how their music has evolved. "I think on our first record, it was a learning experience like a lot of people's first album is. It's, you learn a lot about yourself and your songwriting, and who you are and who you wanna be. And this, the second album "Whatever" is us not taking life quite so seriously and just really like having a good time I mean and writing about real experiences that we went through versus kind of premeditated stories that might be you know, not as, not as, real to who we are".

Hot Chelle Rae在今年早些时候发布的单曲《I Like It Like That》进入了“公告牌”的前二十名，目前该曲与歌曲《坦白》同时名列榜单。
