Holy Motors, the Leos Carax's film, all about that, the end of, you know, the growth of digital, the end of film itself. Do you see, I mean, were you harmed by what you saw this year in terms of invention and new things in cinema?
Well, some of the innovations we've seen, I mean, if you look at The Hobbit, and this new frame rate that Peter Jackson's introduced. I actually agree with you. I think it looks basically like HDTV. That hasn't really settled in yet. We're not quite sure whether it will be a brave new frontier. I'm, yes, I'm actually, more impressed, in some ways, with the old school style effects that are going on in something like Beasts of the Southern Wild, you know, which does use digital effects quite a lot, but also kind of a lot of model work and interesting stuff going on in there.
Yeah, I know, for me, it's quite interesting, 'cause now we're going retro, so at a couple of our sites, we're going to be showing jungle in 35 mil. So we're actually saying, "Hey, come and see 35 mil." So I think really it's all about that there're so many different ways that you can film things, show things, go to the cinema, download.
