Spanish international Santi Cazorla hit a hat-trick while Theo Walcott also scored, having played from the start as a striker, the position in which he believes he can be most effective rather than out on the wing. Walcott and Arsenal are in talks over a contract extension with the England international's current deal, running out at the end of this season. Manager Arsène Wenger says that though wasn't a factor in his decision to play Walcott upfront.
"Well, I felt first of all Giroud needed a little breather, it's his first year that intensity. I put Walcott in that position in training and he convinced me for his game, this is a game that he can do it."
He's made it very clear that's the position he wants to play, could that have a huge bearing on his future with the club?
"You know, you should ask him, but to me, I know what I want.
