It's been designated by the United Nations as a day of worldwide solidarity with the 15-year-old schoolgirl Malala Yousafzai, shot in an assassination attempt by the Pakistani Taliban exactly a month ago. She'd been campaigning for the rights of girls to receive an education and is now recovering in an English hospital. But what has happened back home since the attack? Aleem Maqbool reports from the Swat Valley on the conspiracy theories and the fear.
Looking at this classroom of four and five-year-old girls in the Swat Valley, it's hard to believe anyone would want to harm them just because they're getting an education. But there're clearly those that do and most of the children here know that. Three years ago when the Pakistani Taliban were in charge of Swat, we came to this very school. We walked over the piles of rubble with the head teacher Parveen Bibi who showed us the destruction militants caused during an attack here.
