云南约占国土总面积的2%到3%，但是它却占有全国总数近四分之一的植物、动物物。亚洲野象，滇金丝猴，红腹角雉，黑冠长臂猿，大绯胸鹦鹉……云南仿佛包罗世间所有的万花筒，雪山竹海，密林深潭，承载着各种奇花异卉，使行走其间的动物也像这片土地那样披满了缤纷颜色。

It's the tree's natural defence against attack.长臂猿的歌声曾经激发了中国的古代诗人的灵感。它们壮美的歌声回荡在崇山峻岭之间，谱写了“两岸猿声啼不住”的辉煌篇章。可是现在云南的森林异常的宁静。这些树能够出产一种重要而又珍贵的作物。当树皮被刮开便流出了丰沛的粘液，但是没有任何动物能够以这种又苦又粘的液体为食。这便是这些树木面对攻击时的自我保护。
