Recreational Activities
21st century has brought with it an unprecedented variety of recreational activities ranging from traditional outdoor activities such as playing ball games to all kinds of online ones. Among various recipes students enjoy in their college life, recreational activities can by no means be ignored.
Some people claim that the recreational activities are unquestionably beneficial to our daily life. On the one hand, these activities play great important roles in our body-building and daily relaxation. It can not only enrich our leisure time but also help us make friends with those who share the same values and interests and improve our social network. However, some people think that so many kinds of recreational activities may have a bad effect on our lives. Some people may not resist some temptations from those activities, indulging themselves in those activities and finally lured away from their study or their work.
As for me, we can benefit from recreational activities. Just as an old saying goes: “All work no play makes Jack a dull boy.” Nevertheless, a certain limit must be drawn so that we can keep a proper balance between recreation and study.

避错指导
虽然大多数考生面对“娱乐活动”这样的话题都感觉“下笔容易”、“有话可说”， 但实
际上要想在这种传统的话题上写出高分作文较难。因为一部分考生可能在这类传统话题上不仔细思考，匆忙下笔，结果常常是文章写出来内容简单，没有新意。这时，行文中的遣词造句就显得格外关键。如果出现语法、拼写、标点、用词等的错误就很难获得理想的作文得分了。总的来说，出现错误频率较高的有以下几种。
1. 冠词的错误
I will have to decide what I want to do over a weekend.
【纠错】冠词是一种虚词，不能单独使用，也没有词义。用在名词前面，帮助说明该名词是特指、泛指还是类指。根据句义，此处特指“这个周末”，应使用“the”。
【改正】I will have to decide what I want to do over the weekend.
2. 主谓一致的错误
There is no doubt that study and recreation is very necessary to college life.
【纠错】写任何一个英文句子都应该清楚该句的主语是什么，特别还要注意主语和谓语是否一致。否则便容易产生语法错误。
【改正】There is no doubt that study and recreation are both very necessary to college life.

本次四级作文并没有选取人们生活中非常热点的话题，如限制塑料袋的使用、北京奥运会、汶川地震等，而是延续了历年的校园生活话题，是一个中性话的题材。这样的作文题目显示四级考试作文的出题者在作文主题的选取上容易反常规出题，另辟蹊径：抛开热点话题，坚守传统话题，因此参加四级考试的考生除了在作文复习中要关注学习、生活和社会上的热点话题以外，与自身学习和生活相关的常规话题和“次热点”话题也需要关注。……
